Martial Arts Foundations

Every journey starts with a first step. That's what our Martial Arts Foundations class is all about.

We understand that beginning martial arts can be a little intimidating for some people, so we developed this class for folks who are either new to martial arts or are returning after a long time off of the mat.
​
Martial Arts Foundations teaches the basics of striking, kicking, rolling (ukemi) break falls (tsutemi) and footwork. These classes are designed for beginners as well as intermediate students. The idea here is to prepare you for advanced classes, though some students prefer to remain in these classes due to the wide array of fundamental techniques as well as the slow and educational pace. You can stay in Martial Arts Foundations as long as you wish.
Not only will you learn basic martial arts technique, but also the philosophy and principles of Karate and Taijutsu. You'll also get a good workout!
We encourage all people new to martial arts training to start in our Foundations class before moving on to advanced training. It's a great way to start or continue your journey.
