Daily Practice
In Japanese, jissen means to place something into daily practice. It also means real combat. Kan, simply means "house," and Budo is "the way to enlightenment through warrior training."
Jissenkan Budo is not just a style, but a system made up of two primary arts:​​
Aikido is a modern adaptation of a form of Japanese jujutsu known as aikijujutsu. Our classes involve techniques and principles from Japanese Aikido as well as Kodenkan Jujutsu. These classes offer an array of skills, including:

Evasion and deflection.

Throws and takedowns.

Joint locks and pin.
-
Strangulation and submission.

Grappling and ground fighting.

Karate training involves multiple aspects such as:

Kihon: Basics in punching, kicking, body movement.

Kata: Forms that teach basic movement patterns used in fighting.

Kumite: Patterned as well as freestyle fighting that allows for practical application.

Weapons: Karate students learn various weapons including, bo (staff), nunchucku, stick fighting and more

Weapons training is a part of our curriculum. Weapons that complement our karate and aikido classes include:

Boken (woodent sword)

Shinai (bamboo sword)

Jo (quarter staff)

Bo (six-foot staff)
-
Escrima (short sticks)
-
Nunchaku (short sticks connected by a chain)

Tomfa (club with a perpendicular handle)

Tuition:​

Single membership is $105 per month for unlimited classes.​
​
Family Tuition Rate: Unlimited classes for two people, $165 per month.
​
Online Karate Training: Weekly calls or video chats, exclusive access to training videos, personalized training advice and instruction, $60 per month.

Restrictions:
The minimum age for starting classes at Tatsu Dojo is 18.

All prospective students must watch a class and meet the head instructor before joining.
